Product Indexation Check

January 1st, 2004

Use this handy tool to check how many of your category or product pages are included in the major search engines.

First, enter your website address or that of a competitor: (for example “www.ibm.com”):
(Note: www.ibm.com and ibm.com will return different results.)

Next, enter a directory or file name common to all product (or category) pages:
(for example “product.asp” or “CategoryDisplay”).

A: Simply start at the Google Directory home page at http:/directory.google.com and conduct a search for your company name or brand name. If you are listed in the Directory, you’ll see the Category you’re listed in as part of your search listing. Click on that category name to go directly to that category page of the Directory.
